Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCC) to support Kadiak and our government customer in Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week (no overtime). Seven-day work week to support occasional exercises. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

We are seeking Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCC) to support the US Army. Join us and help America's Soldiers get stronger, faster, and more agile to prevent muscular skeletal injuries.

Normal work tasks:



  • The SCCs will assist the Lead SCC with developing, coordinating, executing, and managing recommended and approved client strength and conditioning programs.
  • Develop lines of communication with government client leadership, including participating in associated training and other meetings.
  • Coordinate, execute, and manage approved physical performance optimization training programs within the framework of the unit's training/operational schedule, battle rhythm, and culture.
  • Develop and recommend evidence-based, periodized strength and conditioning programs focused on unit mission and individual Soldier tasks per the client's system that are synchronized and integrated with unit training/operational schedule, battle rhythm, and culture.
  • Create and submit strength and conditioning programs, with quantified training loads, to Lead SCC for approval and implement upon Government approval.
  • Assist the Lead SCC to develop, coordinate, and execute approved training programs for Soldiers with physical limitations that are medically cleared for strength and conditioning training/reconditioning.
  • Coordinate with Lead SCC to ensure all strength and conditioning education and services are synchronized and integrated with the client's approved education and services.
  • Coach and mentor the military unit fitness leaders.
  • Provide recommended and approved instruction and guidance to Soldiers and unit leadership on physical strength and conditioning with regards to injury mitigation strategies collaboratively with the Team.
  • Identify and direct Soldiers with an apparent new or undiagnosed medical condition to the appropriate medical professionals for evaluation and treatment.
  • Track Soldier/unit progression and provide data to the Lead SCC and government POC.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement to the client's training system to the Lead SCC.
  • Observe BDE specific training events (e.g., shooting range, obstacle courses, combative training areas, etc.) as required to better understand the functional fitness requirements of the soldiers and their current state of fitness.



Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Have a minimum of three full years of relevant SCC work experience within the last five years.
  • Relevant experience is defined as independently developing and executing task and environment specific functional injury control and health/well-being programs for groups of athletes or DoD/Department of Homeland Security / Department of Justice entities focused on a common sport or mission performance goal.
  • Employment related to internships or graduate work for up to one year will be considered towards relevant experience.
  • For otherwise exceptional candidates, and with client pre-approval, the three-year experience requirement may be waived for SCC interns or Graduate assistants working with professional/semi-professional, ROTC, collegiate or equivalent sports teams for a minimum of 3 months.
  • However, you must meet all certification requirements.
  • For otherwise exceptional candidates, and with client pre-approval, the three-year experience requirement may be waived for honorably discharged prior service members and/or Military spouses.
  • However, you must meet all education/certification requirements.
  • Have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification.
  • Certification cards must display the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross emblem. Web-based classes do not meet required standards.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and effectively communicate with Soldiers and leadership.
  • Demonstrate sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that they can relate to a variety of Soldiers from diverse backgrounds in one of the world's most diverse organizations.
  • Ability to operate a computer and Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Be capable of properly lifting and manipulating loads or weights up to 45 pounds and capable of meeting physical demands of training in all types of weather with Soldiers including the ability to hike over rough terrain, function in austere environments to observe Soldier training evolutions and to train, educate, coach, and mentor.
  • Be capable of observing, demonstrating, and correcting Soldier's performance of training/exercise techniques and form.



Essential Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen and meet or exceed the minimum standards described within this section.
  • SCCs must maintain current, active, valid certifications to remain employed.
  • Before receiving an offer letter, candidates must provide current copies of all qualification documents, proof of health and immunization records, and training certificates.
  • Must meet the requirements to access a US military base, which includes not having been convicted of a felony.
  • Able to maintain a professional demeanor and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Qualified SCCs shall possess a bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university.
  • SCCs shall also possess a current certification by the NSCA as a CSCS.

Working Environment & Conditions


Be capable of properly lifting and manipulating loads or weights up to 45 pounds and capable of meeting physical demands of training in all types of weather with Soldiers including the ability to hike over rough terrain, function in austere environments to observe Soldier training evolutions and to train, educate, coach, and mentor. Able to wear government issued basic personal protection equipment during field training exercises (to include, but not limited to, Army Combat Helmet (ACH), gloves, eye, and ear protection).
