Job Description
Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Specialist Job Description As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist, your role will be to coordinate, prepare, and review regulatory documents/certifications required for both domestic and international projects. This includes Specification Sheets, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Flavor/Fragrance Allergens, GMO, Organic, Natural, IFRA, Country of Origin, GRAS, Kosher, Nutritional, and more. You will be responsible for reviewing Raw Material Documentation and entering related data into databases. Your role will also involve supporting the development of Regulatory Specifications, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) filing of flavors, and preparing monthly Kosher Renewal certifications. You will also have experience or exposure to pet and animal feed regulations. You will utilize relevant information, internal tools and individual judgment to determine whether flavor and fragrance formulae comply with laws, regulations, and/or standards.
Hard Skills - 1-5 years of experience in the Flavor industry within Regulatory Affairs
- Bachelors Degree in Bio, Chemistry, Food Science, Nutrition Science, or related Scientific Field
- Experience with Safety Data Sheets
- Will be trained on their home grown Regulatory Software systems
- Comfortable with all forms of Microsoft Apps and must be Technologically inclined and savvy
Soft Skills - Familiar and passionate about Flavor industry regulatory guidelines and compliance
- Function as a liaison amongst other internal departments such as QA to discuss Customer Regulatory needs and specifications
Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Mahwah, New Jersey and some days remote.
Work Environment This is a full-time role with a schedule of 8:30am to 5pm. You will have the flexibility to work 3 days on-site and 2 days remote of your choice, but you cannot choose both Monday and Friday as remote days. The environment is collaborative and fosters a family-like culture. You also have the option to work 5 days a week in-office and take every 3rd Friday off. This is a 37.5-hour work week position with no overtime opportunity.
