JOB TITLE : Medical Technologist I

LOCATION : Watertown, MA; On-Site; Full Time

Were seeking a skilled medical technologist to join a cutting-edge laboratory that is revolutionizing the field of medical testing. As a key member of the laboratory, you will support the execution of sample accessioning, management, and daily assay execution for a new automated high-throughput immunoassay program. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Full Cycle Laboratory Processes: Manage and oversee full cycle laboratory processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in sample accessioning and assay execution.
  • Sample Processing: Accession, run, and result a high volume of samples daily in new automated ELISA processes, in compliance with CLIA requirements.
  • Manual Pipetting: Independently accession, run, and result samples using manual pipetting processes, maintaining CVs below 5%.
  • Data Accuracy: Identify and correct data errors during accessioning, ensuring compliance with testing requirements and accurate recording of assay QC and trends.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with laboratory standards, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing scientific expertise and fostering a culture of laboratory responsibility.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Within 30 Days:
  • Complete all training activities.
  • Accession, run, and result 80 samples/day in new automated ELISA processes with 85% compliance with SLA.
  • Independently process at least one full plate's worth of samples/day in manual pipetting with CVs below 8%.
  • Identify and correct 85% of data errors during accessioning.
  • Report all sample collection issues before the testing stage.
  • Record and track assay QC and trends with 90% accuracy.
  • Within 90 Days:
  • Run multiple assays in the CLIA lab daily.
  • Accession, run, and result in more than 500 samples/day in automated ELISA processes with 90% SLA compliance.
  • Independently process more than 250 samples/day in manual pipetting with CVs under 5%.
  • Identify and correct 95% of data errors during accessioning.
  • Consistently complete weekly inventory of assigned supplies.
  • Take initiative to optimize processes and suggest improvements.
  • Train new trainees to match the highest performers in the team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Fulfills CLIA education qualification requirements (16 credits in Biological Science disciplines, 16 credits in Chemistry disciplines, and 3 credits in Mathematics).
  • Experience: Ideal 1-2 years of CLIA/CAP experience; but not required
  • Schedule: Available to work 3 twelve-hour shifts, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
