The Esports Facility Managerfvd will serve as a member of the professional staff for the Department of Student Recreation and Wellness and be a vital part of the Esports Program. The manager is responsible for maintaining the daily operations and management of the Esports Center. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities including facility management, managing on-site events, coaching, supervising student employees, providing academic and student support services, coordinating experiential student learning, advising the Esports Club, collaborating on marketing plans, supporting campus collaboration projects, and executing the Esports student retention plan. The Esports Manager reports to the Associate Director of Esports.
All members of the Recreation & Wellness staff work to advance the Models of Practice for the Division of Student Affairs and Radford University commitment to inclusivity to meet the ever-changing needs of a diverse student population. Further, staff members advance the department's safety and risk management initiatives in order to create a positive and safe environment; promote the department's Vivid Vision for Recreation and Wellness.
Required Qualifications - Experience coaching or playing in a collegiate Esports program
- Experience with software and/or hardware associated with esports (i.e. ggLeap)
- Knowledge and ability to effectively utilize live streaming/broadcasting software on platforms
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively and frequently with students, campus community members and vendors
- Excellent customer service, and demonstrated ability to manage conflicts, and create an inclusive environment
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in campus activities and event planning
- Ability to identify trends, and irregularities, resolve difficult and unusual problems
- Experience in recruiting students, coaching and supporting competitive play
- Experience with data collection and reporting
