Job Summary


The mail carrier delivers services to customers by delivering parcels and letters from the sender to the recipient safely and in a timely manner.

Essential Job Duties

• Pick up mail from the United States Post Office and Tuskegee Institute Post Office
• Sort mail to include packages
• Deliver incoming mail to appropriate locations on Tuskegee University's campus
• Collect outgoing mail along route
• Maintain arrival and delivery logs
• Operate postal equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license

Physical Demands

• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Ability to operate postal equipment
• Ability to walk short and long distances
• Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
• Ability to lift at least 10 pounds or more
