Description SCOPE:
Common Carrier Dispatchers are responsible for taking orders and creating and routing customer deliveries. This position manages driver routes and workloads, adhering to designated timeframes and cost structures and complying with efficiency standards and safety regulations.
SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES & DELIVERABLES
- Manage bulk fuel inventory for all company owned, Amerifuel, Commercial, and Retail Fuel locations
- Take customer orders via phone, email, and portal
- Understand and manage allocation distribution and request additional allocation as needed
- Monitor GPS to track trucks and driver hours of service
- Utilize independent judgment to assign drivers to trucks and trucks to routes to maximize operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability, all while adhering to safety requirements.
- Exercise discretion while managing schedule changes due to driver absences, business changes, and vehicle maintenance. Adjust assignments and routes, accordingly, communicating changes to appropriate operations and sales team members.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and troubleshoot concerns. Manage and escalate onsite emergencies reported by drivers to the appropriate parties in compliance with company, environmental, health, safety, and security guidelines.
- Achieve Key Performance Indicators, including Gallons per Hour, Net Profit per Delivery, Fuel Outages, On time Delivery, Margin Losses, etc.
- Review and analyze the previous day's deliveries to ensure routes were adhered to and efficiency levels were met or exceeded
- Collaborate with the Supply Sales Coordinators and Account Managers to achieve optimal customer service
- Participate in frequent 1:1's with the Director of Order Fulfillment
- Engagingly participate in Team Huddles, understanding KPIs and scorecard performance
- Complete a Performance Planner that supports the Common Carrier Business Unit's annual goals
- Collaborates with team members to ensure that shifts are covered in the event of team member
- vacations or unplanned absences
- Continuous, clear communication with all stakeholders, including internal and external customers, drivers, and team
- Other duties as assigned.
LEADERSHIP & TEAM REACH
This position reports to the Director of Order Fulfillment and works closely with many team members, including Office Admin, Drivers, and Sales.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or higher
- Data entry experience.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Customer service background.
- 2-5 years of dispatching, logistics, or similar experience
- Knowledge of delivery area (WA, OR, ID).
- DOT compliance experience a plus
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication. Including professional use of phone and e-mail correspondence.
- Must be able to provide excellent internal and external customer service
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with customer principles
- Repetitive Data Entry
- Ability to move and manipulate data from other sources to Excel, Pivot tables, etc.
- Ability to analyze data to evaluate and implement efficiencies
- Ability to work in an unsupervised environment

- This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
