Job Description
The Washington State Democrats' Coordinated Campaign seeks a dynamic individual to fill the role of Constituency Organizer. The regional Constituency Organizer (CO) is a full-time position that combines field, political, project management, and communications work. The regional Constituency Organizer will serve as a member of the 2024 Coordinated Political team and will be crucial in our efforts to build the Democratic Party and expand Democratic majorities in 2024. Regional Constituency Organizers will be responsible for building meaningful relationships with community leaders, activists, and organizations to partner on voter registration and relational voter turnout. Regional Constituency Organizers will identify and elevate storytellers to lead pro-voting messaging efforts in partnership with the Washington State Democratic Party.

Requirements Core Competencies
- The regional constituency organizers are responsible for building robust volunteer networks; serving as liaisons between constituency groups, grassroots and grasstops community leaders, tribal communities, student groups, and community activists in their region
- Regional Constituency Organizers are expected to have an unwavering commitment to winning Democratic majorities at all levels in Washington State and a demonstrated commitment to the Democratic Party
- Demonstrated ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a diverse staff, activists, allies, students, community leaders, and stakeholders
- Cultural competence, empathy, and a willingness to ask questions and show vulnerability, and engage in sometimes difficult conversations with community members
- Must be able to work independently
- A natural storyteller, creative thinker, and interpersonal communicator
- Be a passionate promoter of Democratic values and have direct or transferable experience in multiple areas of campaign work
Experience
- Experience working with volunteers, issue advocacy, communications, customer service, or other public-facing roles
- Past political organizing or constituency organizing experience as a fellow or volunteer is preferred
- Bi-lingual candidates preferred
- Familiarity with VAN is a bonus
- Ability to adapt to evolving priorities
- Comfortable working in a qualitative and quantitative metrics-driven deadlines environment
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work evening and weekend hours
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A friendly and professional member-first demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
Responsibilities
- Organize and recruit volunteers to run constituency and relational voter contact events, including in-person and virtual events, such as virtual power hours, community events, 1:1's, rallies, community meetings, small gatherings, listening sessions, and party events in the region
- 40 percent of your time will be dedicated to building and maintaining strong relationships with key constituency groups and those organizations who represent them, including independent political groups, grassroots, grasstops, and local community organizations in communities of color. This includes conducting outreach to established networks and reaching out to new stakeholders, hosting regular constituency-focused events and actions, and attending community events on behalf of the Washington State Democratic Party
- 25 percent of the time will be spent assisting in the execution of field and voter contact programs, including the management and coordination of WSDP stakeholders and volunteers for events, direct voter contact, petition gathering, voter registration, and other activities to expand, engage, and turn out the Democratic electorate
- 15 percent of the time will be spent working with WSDP political staff and other senior staff to develop WSDP programming and facilitate programming at the regional level
- 20 percent of time will be spent attending local meetings and events such as township meetings, county central committee meetings, fundraisers, and other regularly hosted or relevant stakeholder meetings as necessary
- Applicants with experience using digital tools such as VAN, Reach, Empower, Hustle, or other relational apps are strongly encouraged to apply

Benefits Salary and Benefits
This position is $22 per hour, with overtime paid at 1 ½ times the hourly rate after 40 hours up to 55 hours, with exceptions in the GOTV window. Benefits include healthcare, phone, and mileage stipends; sick leave; bereavement; and paid observed holidays. This position is a part of the Coordinated Campaign's collective bargaining agreement.
