Job Description:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing our financial records ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role involves handling a variety of bookkeeping tasks to support our agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records including ledgers journals and accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Assist with monthend and yearend closing processes.
  • Generate financial reports including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Handle payroll processing including calculating wages taxes and deductions.
  • Monitor and report on cash flow and budgeting activities.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with tax preparation and filings.
  • Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and other reports for management review.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Proven 2 years of experience as a Bookkeeper preferably in the agricultural industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Familiarity with agricultural industry financial practices and regulations is a plus.
