POSITION SUMMARY:

The Banquet Houseman is responsible for set up, break down, and service all meeting rooms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guests. This includes considerable physical activity in transporting heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dancefloors, etc.
• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
• Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concluded and return to storage closet so the room will be available to be reset for the next function.
• Maintain established cleaning schedule of meeting rooms and ballrooms so the rooms stay presentable at all times.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guests’ view.
• Maintains a sincere, positive, pleasant and enthusiastic attitude provides our customers with the highest quality care and service.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager. Furthermore, tasks and responsibilities may be added or revised based on the volume of business and the need for the work to be completed at the present time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Three to six months related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience

· Experience in fine dining or luxury hotel preferred.

· High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.

· Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

· Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

· Must work well in stressful high pressure situations.

· Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule to be at work and on time. May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business need.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

· Must be able to stand on hard surfaces up to eight (8) hours.

· Position also involves bending, stooping and walking.

· Must be able to lift and pull boxes, pans, trays up to fifty (50) pounds.

· Operates in a working environment that is subjected to varying levels of heat and noise, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. At times subjected to hazards such as wet floors and dangers associated with the use of heavy duty cutlery and cooking equipment.
